Feller Company

Feller Company will only be held during the Fall semester. This group will participate in our December mainstage show, Willy Wonka, and will have the opportunity to work with adult professionals and other community actors normally associated with a Henegar show. Along with the classes they will also experience a full rehearsal schedule to better understand and navigate the rigorous timeline associated with many productions.

A word about:

Auditions

Feller auditions are meant for placement of each student to ensure they each receive the most out of our program. Every child will be placed in one of three options and every child will have an opportunity to perform on the mainstage in some capacity. Although there are many students who are capable of placement in Feller Company, we are limited to only accepting those who are best suited for the roles available. Please understand that every child will have an opportunity to shine, regardless of their placement.

Classes are available for all students ages 6 and up.

What are the dates of the classes?

Fall classes will begin October 1 and will meet every Monday from 6-6:50 pm.  As we get closer to performances, your child will begin to integrate with the main cast.  A detailed rehearsal schedule will be provided shortly after classes begin.

Tell me about the auditions

Auditions will be held Sunday September 23rd at 6:00PM and Monday September 24th at 7:00PM.

All students will audition for Feller Company roles.  This is for both placement and valuable experience.  If accepted into the Feller Company, an additional $100 production fee will be charged to help with costs associated with a main stage production.  If you do not want your child to be considered for a company role, please note this on the registration form, however, as auditions are an integral part in the creative process, we still urge your child to participate.

What hours are rehearsals?

Rehearsals will be on Mondays from 6pm – 6:50pm.  As we get closer to the show opening, rehearsals will become more frequent and last longer, typically 6pm – 10pm.

Please be sure to pick up your child no more than 15 minutes after end of class.

Tell me about the performances

Performances for Willy Wonka will be Friday and Saturday at 8 pm and Sunday at 2 pm November 30 – December 16.  A full production schedule and agreement will be provided shortly after classes begin.

How much will the class cost?

Every child taking part in the Fall Feller program will register for either the Junior Feller Academy or Feller Academy and participate in an audition on either September 23 or 24.  The cost for these classes is $200 and includes at least 10 classes, a show in our Black Box Studio Theatre – Upstairs at the Henegar, two pre-show performances during the run of Willy Wonka, and the Feller Academy students will also be participating in the Downtown Melbourne Tree Lighting ceremony.  If cast into Willy Wonka, your child will instead be participating in the 3 week run of our Main Stage show, Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka.  To help defray the additional costs associated with a main stage production, as well as advanced instructions, a $100 production fee will be added.
